The voters in State of Washington recently passed Initiative 502 which legalizes the possession and use of up to one (1) ounce of cannabis/marijuana by anyone 21 years of age or older.  The use or consumption of the cannabis/marijuana is prohibited in public.

The State, through the Liquor Control Board (LCB), is in the process of setting up rules and regulations for the growing, processing and sale from retail outlets of cannabis/marijuana.  The regulations will be broken down into three separate areas: 1) producer; 3) processor; and 3) retailer.  As of the date of this writing, the Washington State LCB plans to release the rules for the three (3) areas of regulation at the same time in August.  The LCB will begin accepting applications in September.  It is not expected that cannabis/marijuana will be available for retail sale until sometime in 2014.  For updated information you can visit the LCB website.
